Valentine’s Day for The Romantic Grown Ups

Yeah, yeah, Valentine’s day is this weekend and you can bet there’s a million Instagram posts out there letting you know about what balloon arch to make and to order your 3 million roses now before it’s too late.

Not here.

Because here we’re grown ups with jobs that work all week, are making ends meet but don’t have the budget for a million dollar date night. We’re tired – no – we’re exhausted and while we love our boyfriend/fiance/husband – ladies, it doesn’t have to be like a scene from the Bachelorette just to be romantic.

Because let’s be so for real.

THEY DON”T CARE.

You heard me. I’ll say it louder for the women in the back –

THEY DON’T GIVE A FLYING FUCK.

Now granted, this is if you have a real, full blooded man. If you have one of those sissies that gets his feelings hurt when the wind blows wrong, just get you another man all together cause honey you don’t need a manchild to take care of.

There’s a big difference between intentionality and putting on a show. Not everything has to be for Instagram. You can do some basic planning for something nice to show your partner that you love them without it being a showboat routine.

It’s Friday night. Order some takeout from a place you both love, greet him at the door with a beer or mixed drink in that outfit you know he loves – (and believe me, they all have one) and let the night go from there. It doesn’t have to be hard. If you want to do something different, throw in a little spontaneity. Shower together. Get him the flowers. Something small that makes it intentional, because that’s what they really notice and what we all really care about.

Now get out there and have some fun ya filthy freaks!
